Making a Banner

When Balnarring Thunder players reach a milestone such as 50/100 games, it is traditional to celebrate by making a banner for them to run through. This is usually at the next home game after they reach the milestone, but can be celebrated at an away game if you prefer.

You will be notified by your team manager when 50 or 100 games is approaching, but most players will know how many games they have played. It is up to the parents to organise the banner for the players and there are wooden poles in the container at the club that can be used. Crepe paper in the club colours can be purchased at the Balnarring newsagency or Peninsula Mapping and Laminating in Balnarring.

Speak to your coach about getting the poles and check out these photos of previous banners which may give you some ideas.

Often there is more than 1 player celebrating their milestone from the same team, so get together with the other parents and have fun making the banner for your players.
